陶
1、(形声。从阜,匋(táo)声,阜,土山。从“阜”,与土有关。本义:陶丘)。
2、同本义。本为两重的山丘,后为地名专称。在今山东省定陶县。因陶丘在定陶,故定陶亦省称陶。
陶,再成丘也。---《说文》
再成为陶丘。---《尔雅》。孙注:“形如累两盆。”
陶丘于高山上一重作之,如陶灶也。---《释名》
在济阴,《夏书》曰,东至于陶丘北,陶丘有尧城,尧尝所居,故尧号陶唐氏。---《说文》
