1、(形声。从金,监声。本义:古代用来盛水或冰的青铜大盆)。
2、同本义。
鑑,大盆也,一曰鑑诸,可以取明水于月。---《说文》。徐灏曰:“鑑,古祇作堅,从皿以盛水也。其后范铜为之,而用以照形者,亦谓之鑑,声转为镜。”
