1、(形声。从艸,监声。本义:蓼蓝)。
2、同本义 。蓼科一年生草本植物。叶形似蓼而味不辛,干后变暗蓝色,可加工成靛青,作染料。叶也供药用。又泛指叶含蓝汁可制蓝靛作染料的植物。
