蒜
1、(形声。从艸,祘(suàn)声。本义:一种多年生草本植物。有大蒜、小蒜两种)。
2、同本义 。百合科,多年生宿根草本。地下鳞茎有白皮包裹,内有小鳞茎,叫“蒜瓣”。根椐蒜瓣的大小分大瓣种和小瓣种。大蒜种西汉时从西域传入。小蒜种由山蒜移栽,从古已有。蒜苗、蒜苔作蔬菜,蒜头作佐料和入药。
