纸
1、(形声。从糸(mì),氏声。纸的原料本是破旧的丝绵,故从糸。本义:纸张)。
2、同本义。
纸,絮也,一曰苫也。---《说文》。按,潎絮一苫也。造纸昉于漂絮以苫荐而成之,后汉蔡伦造。意用树肤麻头及敝巾魚网为之。今亦用竹质木皮,其细者,有致密竹帘荐焉。
