碑
1、(形声。从石,卑声。本义:古时宫、庙门前用来观测日影及拴牲畜的竖石)。
2、竖石。
碑,竖石也。---《说文》
上当碑南陈。---《仪礼·聘礼》。注:“宫必有碑,所以识日景引阴阳也。宗庙则丽牲焉以取毛血。其材,宫庙以石,窆用木。”
公室设丰碑。---《礼记·檀弓》
君牵牲…既入庙门,丽(拴)于碑。---《礼记·祭义》
3、石碑。石上刻着文字,作为纪念物或标记,也用以刻文告。秦代称刻石,汉以后称碑。
