1、(形声。从水,每声。本义:大海,海洋)。
2、百川会聚之处。后指邻接大陆而区域范围小于洋的咸水水体。
海,天池也。以纳百川者。从水,每声。---《说文》。按,海势圆,就地心也。海味咸,湿热之气蒸也。海气绿,穹苍之映,云雾不能隔也。
