庙
1、(形声。从广(yǎn),朝声。“广”与建筑物有关。本义:宗庙,供奉祭祀祖先的处所)。
2、同本义。
廟,尊先祖貌也。---《说文》。按,当作宗庙尊先祖貌也。
庙祧坛墠,鬼祭先祖也。---《广雅·释天》
室有东西厢曰庙,无曰寝。---《尔雅·释宫》
